About Us
Jars of Love Community (JLC) was founded in 2017 by a group of young doctors following their graduation from medical school. Recognizing unmet needs within their community, they took the initiative to respond using the skills, knowledge, and resources available to them.
As this initiative grew, other Christian professionalsâboth medical and non-medicalâjoined the effort, united by a shared commitment to serving individuals and families most in need.

Since its founding, JLC has remained dedicated to its vision of spreading the Kingdom of God through service. The organization applies its expertise through a holistic approach that integrates healthcare services, financial education, and public health initiatives, supported by strong partnerships, including collaboration with local churches.
Our Team
Vital HARAKANDI is a community development and health programs leader currently serving as Program Manager at Jars of Love Community. He specializes in community health promotion and economic empowerment, supporting over 600 vulnerable women across community-based groups through savings initiatives, income-generating activities, and access to basic health services. He began his leadership journey as President of the Vision for Development Association (ADV), where he initiated a public secretariat income-generating activity providing thesis writing support and computer training to prepare young people for the job market. Vital has held key roles in administration, finance, and program coordination, including managing a missionary health center where he oversaw human resources, finance, and logistics for seven years. He also has experience in agro-livestock entrepreneurship, reinforcing his practical approach to economic empowerment. He is passionate about building sustainable community-based solutions that connect peopleâs needs with available resources. Alongside his professional work, he serves as a church elder, reflecting his commitment to holistic transformation.
